Christopher Alexander is a piano teacher living in Bay Area, California!
My Music Journey:
I began my piano journey when I was 8 years old, after a couple of years I became passionate about music when I discovered I could play the Lord of the Rings soundtrack music! After studying with Tiffany Skaran, and Dr. Horacio Nuguid, I graduated from St. Olaf College, Northfield with a B.A. in Music and English where I studied under Dr. Kent McWilliams for four years.
After a graduate fellowship teaching English in Germany, and a year with the Minnesota Reading Corps, I discovered my true passion was teaching piano lessons! I am currently entering my 4th year of being a full-time piano teacher!
Christopher has over 10 years experience as a collaborative pianist, including experience with over 5 churches, accompanist for the Rochester Male Chorus, keyboardist for the band Knufunk and projects with various vocalists and instrumentalists.
While in Rochester, Christopher built a private piano studio of 50 students, taught a theory course the SouthEast Minnesota Suzuki Association, and directed the RAACHE JuBell-Lee handbell choir.
After moving to the Bay Area, Christopher spent two years as music director at St Francis Church of Assisi, and a piano teacher at Veksler Academy of Music and Dance.
Currently, Christopher lives in Emeryville, California as a full-time online piano teacher, pianist at St Francis Episcopal Church, and keyboardist for Libba and Take 5!
